Knights and Bikes Announced

Foam Swords Games (@foamswordgames) announced a new game today called Knights and Bikes and launched a KickStarter campaign. The campaign is for £100,000 ($142,577) and will be open for 30 days. Foam Swords Games is made up of of two developers: Rex Crowle (@rexbox) and Moo Yu (@oneofmoo) who worked on notable titles like LittleBigPlanet and Tearaway. The game is inspired by the developers’ love of classic 90s games like Earthbound and Secret of Mana as well as movies like The Goonies. Music for Knights and Bikes is being composed by Daniel Pemberton (Steve JobsThe Man from U.N.C.L.E.LittleBigPlanet). As of now Knights and Bikes is targeting a Spring 2017 release date with Kickstarter rewards expected to be delivered in April 2017. Knights and Bikes follows the childhood fantasies of two young girls, Nessa and Demelza, as they explore the island of Penfurzy off the coast of 1980s Cornwall, England. These two girls have incredible imaginations that fuel their adventures and their story as they rescue islanders from danger and hunt for treasure. In reality Penfurzy “an island on the fast track to financial ruin and literal destruction.” But in the midst of all of it Nessa and Demelza are a beacon of hope for the islanders.

Knights and Bikes is a co-op action adventure game where players explore Penfurzy on bikes as well a on foot. Co-op is local and if there’s no one to play with you the AI will take over. Players will battle spirits possessing animals and islanders using everyday items transformed through childhood imagination. Both Nessa and Damelza have special abilities that they use in combat. Nessa throws Frisbees and Damzela has a power glove. The girls can also upgrade their abilities and soup up their bikes to defeat spirits, complete quests and explore the island.
